Volleyball Courts are flat horizontal playing surfaces sized for the game of volleyball. Indoor volleyball court surfaces are required to be made of resilient wood flooring or poured with a synthetic urethane. The size of an indoor volleyball court is the same as an outdoor court. Volleyball courts are regulated at 59’ (18 m) in length with a width of 29.5' (9 m).

The required beach volleyball court dimensions for USA Volleyball and NCAA and FIVB and World doubles competition is 16m by 8m (52’6” by 26’3”). USA Volleyball and the NCAA recommended having a free space of 6m (20’) and state that adjacent courts may share free space. If adjacent courts are situated end line to end line, 9m(29’-6”) of free space is recommended.
The court is 60 feet long and 30 feet wide. There is a net that divides the court in half. For Men's volleyball, the regulation net height is 7 feet, 11 5/8 inches. For Women's volleyball, the regulation net height is 7 feet, 4 1/4 inches high.

The volleyball court has a rectangular shape and has to measure 18 meters long and 9 meters wide. It is then divided half in length, with each team having a square-shaped half in which to play. The area outside the court is called the free zone, and this zone must have at least 3,5 meters in all directions.
For years in outdoor competition on the sand, the beach volleyball court size was the same as the indoor court which was 30 feet by 60 feet. In 2001, in a controversial move the FIVB voted to minimize the volleyball court size for outdoor doubles sand competition to a much shorter size of 8 meters by 16 meters for men and women.
